9 Day Group Tour in Uganda

elephant-murchisonThis is a 9 day tour around Uganda exploring the different places that make up the pearl of Africa. At the end of your trip, you know how deserving this title was for the country.

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International airport
On arrival at the airport, you will be picked by our staff and taken to your hotel Cassia lodge. Here you will relax and rest enough after the long journey.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
The adventure will begin with a drive northwest to Masindi where Murchsion falls is found. Murchsion falls has a diverse vast collection of flora and fauna and you will enjoy seeing all these gifts of nature by yourself. On your way, you will have a stop over at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary where you will be able to see the rebirth of these endangered animals that suffered at the hands of poachers far back during Amin’s era. You will see the great work that is being done to save these animals from extinction. You will check in at Paraa safari lodge on arrival at Murchison falls park where you will spend the night.

Day 3: Spend whole time in Murchison falls park
You will embark on an unforgettable game drive around Murchison where you will see lots of animals including buffalos, elephants, lions,, giraffes, bushbucks, waterbucks, spotted hyenas and very rarely, the leopards. From here you will head back to the lodge for lunch and then go for a boat excursion on the Nile to see a variety of bird’s species, hippos, kingfisher, crocodiles, and like African eagles, Egyptian geese and pelicans much more. At the base of the Nile you will see the stunning waterfalls of the Murchison falls. The waters gushing huskily with a roar and the sprinkling water in your face will leave you in awe. You will then spend the night at Paraa safari lodge.

Day 4: Drive to Budongo Forest for chimpanzee Trek
You will drive to Kaniyo Pabidi eco-tourist site found in Budongo forest to enjoy the most distinctive chimpanzee trek in the wild. The forest also hosts red-tailed monkey, white and black colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, and baboons. You will have such an exciting time. If time allows you will also see the efforts of Jane Goodall Institute in conserving chimpanzees.

In the afternoon you will visit cultural groups of Boomu Women group or the Kapega association which is made up of local guides who have been working in the forests. Here you will be able to see the works of these people and you may even buy some items for yourself to always remember this time. You will enjoy various entertainment from the locals as well. You will then spend the night at Hoima cultural lodge.

Day 5: Transfer along the Albertine Rift Valley up to Queen Elizabeth Park
You will leave Masindi and head southwest along the western rift vally escarpment and Lake Albert. The view here is so magnificent so your journey to the park will be an exciting one. When you reach the park you will right away enjoy an evening game drive before relaxing in the lavish Mweya lodge.

Day 6: Queen Elizabeth Park
You will be taken on a game drive along the clear and well maintained tracks of the national park in the northern part of the park towards Kasenyi village and Lake George. Here you will see elephants, lions, buffaloes, waterbucks, spotted hyenas and the prestigious Uganda kob. The leopards are seen rarely as they are shy. The Albertine rift valley and crater lakes shape Queen Elizabeth into an unforgettable collection of amazing views. Later that afternoon you will encounter a boat cruise from the Mweya peninsula along the Kazinga channel. This has the greatest concentration of hippos and you will enjoy water loving animals seen on its banks including hippos, elephants, crocodiles, buffalos and so many birds. You will spend the night at Mweya Safari lodge.

Day 7: Ishasha Sector – Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park
The southern part of Queen Elizabeth is known as Ishasha and is mainly famous for its tree climbing lions. You will leave the northern sector and cross the south as you head to the home of the endangered mountain gorillas Bwindi Impenetrable forest. Ishasha also has herds of buffaloes that you will see, elephants, antelops, topis and so much more. In the hot times of the day, tree climbing lions are seen lying peacefully in the fig trees. You will arrive Bwindi in the evening and here you will have something to eat and check in to Bwindi jungle lodge, Bwindi Engagi lodge, Chameleon hill lodge or Buhoma community rest camp.

Day 8: Gorilla Safari in Bwindi Forest
You will encounter a thrilling gorilla safari in the rain forest of Bwindi. You will explore gorilla families which you will take about 2-7 hours trekking and thereafter spending an hour with them. This will begin in the morning with a brief at the parks headquarters. The park has half of thw whole world’s population of mountain gorillas. You will be amazed to see how close these animals behave like human beings. Make sure you pack something you will have along the way and in case you need someone to carry for you, this can be arranged for you. You will spend the night at Bwindi jungle lodge.

Day 9: Transfer from Bwindi back to Kampala
You will leave Bwindi for Kampala in the morning after breakfast so that that you make it in time for your flight.
