7 Day Flying Safari Uganda

vervet-monkey-kibaleYou will enjoy Uganda in this 7 day safari seeing lions, gorillas and giraffes along with other animals but this time round you will not have to endure the long journey from Kampala to the park but rather you will enjoy spectacular arial views of the country as you will be flown from Kampala using our reliable domestic flight service.

Day 1: Welcome to Uganda!
You will be welcomed at the airport by our staff on arrival and they will drive you to lake Victoria hotel where you will be spending the night and rest from the long journey. It is a 15 minute drive from the airport.

Day 2: Transfer from Kampala up to Kibale Forest National Park
You will then be taken back to the airport where you be flown to Kasese. From Kasese you will be picked by our driver and taken to Fort Portal which is the capital town of Tooro kingdom in western Uganda. Kibale forest national park is found in the shadows of the Rwenzori ranges and here you will have the opportunity to explore panoramic views of nature and the region of Kasenda crater lakes. You will spend your night at Primate lodge that night.

Day 3: Kibale Forest – Queen Elizabeth Park
In Kibale forest you will have the best chimp encounter you can ever find, the most awesome birdlife flourishes there as well. The 766sqkm sized forest has the highest density of primates in the world. These include red tailed monkeys, black and white monkeys, vervet monkeys, over 300 different species of birds.

In the afternoon you will proceed to Queen Elizabeth that sits inbetween lakes Edward and George. These have a rich game life and it is specially known for the tree climbing lions in the southern part of the park. Other animals you will find include leopards, spotted hyenas,buffalos, water loving animals along the Kazinga channel like hippos, crocodiles, elephants, topis, kingfishers to mention but a few. You will enjoy game drives and boat cruises as well as community and nature walks. You will spend the night at Kyambura game lodge.

Day 4: Activities in Queen Elizabeth Park
The day will begin with a game drive along the tracks of the park in the morning at about 6:30am on the northern part towards Kasenyi village and Lake George. Here you will see the Ugandan kob, leopards, lions, waterbucks, buffalos. You will also reach the Crater Lake region and also see the baboon cliffs. You will then have lunch before heading for a boat safari from Mweya peninsula along the Kazinga channel. Birdlife in particular is so abundant here and this wil give you the opportunity to take as many photographs as possible. You will also be able to see many hippos, buffalos, elephants which stroll the banks of the Kazinga channel. On a good day you will also see crocodiles. You will then return to your lodge and relax.

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth Park up to Bwindi Forest
You will leave Queen Elizabeth for Bwindi Impenetrable national park via Ishasha which is a large savannah harbouring tree climbing lions between the rivers of Ntungwe and Ishasha. You will be amazed as you go past them as they lie peacefully in the fig trees. You will also see Topis, antelopes and so much more. You will then proceed to the home of the endangered mountain gorillas which lies at an altitude of 2300m above sea level. You will check in Mahogany Springs lodge and prepare for an exciting encounter trekking mountain gorillas tomorrow.

Day 6: Mountain Gorilla Safari
You will begin the trekking early in the morning with a brief at the park’s headquarters. Gorilla families will be distributed among you as each family can accommodate only 8 visitors at a time. You enter into the jungle in search for them and this can take from 2-6 hours depending on the location your family will be. You will then spend an hour with them when you reach them seeing and learning much about them. You will take as many photographs as you possibly can. Bwindi has almost half of all the world’s population of Mountain gorillas. Ensure you pack lunch and enough to drink as this could take long. You will then proceed to lake Bunyonyi in the evening for another exciting encounter in the wild.

Day 7: Back to Entebbe
You will be flying back to Entebbe today. They will provide you with packed lunch to take along with you. The time of departure will depend on the timing that the aircraft will provide.
