Day 1: Fly to Kisoro – Transfer to Lake Mutanda
You will be flying from Entebbe Airport to Kisoro which is locates in south west of the country bordering Rwanda and Congo. This journey will last approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour only. In Kisoro our guide will be waiting for you to transfer you to your residence for that day. He will drive to Mutanda lake resort which over looks Lake Mutanda and the Virungas that border Rwanda. You will check in and rest for yet another interesting day with mountain gorillas tomorrow.
Day 2: Gorilla Tracking
Prepare yourself for the most thrilling encounter in the wild with Bwindi’s gentle giants which is definitely the highlight of the trip. Bwindi Impenetrable forest ha very many animals but is famously known for its mountain gorillas and chimpanzees. Over 113 species of mammals, 360 species of birds, 200 types of butterflies and incredible primates all call this home. This time though we shall focus on mountain gorillas.
You will report to the park’s headquarters in the morning where you will be briefed, assigned a ranger to go with and a gorilla family to visit. Depending on the location of the gorilla family assigned to you, this could take from 2 hours to several hours before you can find them. But as soon as you get them, you will melt in amazement. You will spent a maximum of 1 hour with them bonding, learning their behaviour and taking pictures of this incredible moment. You will then head back to the resort for lunch and thereafter relax the rest of the day after this exciting encounter in the wild.
Day 3: Return to Entebbe
You will leave Bwindi today and drive back to Kisoro airport where you will check in 1 hour before the time of departure. You will be in Entebbe in no time therefore do not be scared of missing your flight back home.
