This Adventure that is 14 days long will span around 2 beautiful African countries Uganda and Rwanda. You will enjoy fun filled activities like game drives, chimpanzee tracking and gorilla tracking to the most outstanding national parks in Rwanda and Uganda showcasing cultures, nature and history through many historic sites. You will visit Entebbe city, Murchison falls National park, Ziwa Rhino sanctuary, Kibale Forest national park, Fortportal town, Lake Bunyonyi, Queen Elizabeth National park, Bwindi Impenetrable National park, Gisenyi city and Musanze city.
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe Airport
You will be welcomed by your guide on arrival at Entebbe International airport who will drive you to your accommodation which is located in the quiet vicinity of Entebbe town which is just a few minutes away from the airport.
Day 2: Drive to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhinos Sanctuary
Day 2 will be for setting off to Murchsion Falls through Uganda’s capital city Kampala which is a beehive of activities especially business people. Along the way you will have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary and here you will see the recently re-introduced White Rhinos and then continue with the journey to the famous Murchison Falls National park. When there you will rest and relax at Murchison river lodge which is a mid range tented camp.
Day 3: Morning Game drive and afternoon Boat ride
Early in the morning after breakfast you will enjoy a game drive through the scenic landscapes which are made up of Savannah grasslands. You will enjoy a collection of primates like leopards, lions, buffalo, hyenas, antelopes and elephants not forgetting bird species. Later you will be taken on a boat trip on River Nile which is at the bottom of Murchsion falls. You will enjoy the incredible sights of the rolling waters of the waterfalls. Then you will relax and treat your taste-buds to very tasty food at Murchsion River lodge.
Day 4: Drive to Fort Portal
You will depart from Murchison Falls National park after breakfast to head to Fort-portal which is a long but scenic drive through numerous neat tea plantations. The lodge is a few kilometres from the town but you will find peace and have a very good rest.
Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking and Swamp Walk in Kibale National Park
You will enjoy chimpanzee trekking in the depth of Kibaale forest, then a nature walk through Bigodi swamp where dozens of birds and primates alike call home. The park has over 20 primates and countless number of birds. You can get very good accommodation to relax and rest at Kluges Guest farm.
Day 6: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, have an evening Game drive
You will cross the equator today as you drive to Queen Elizabeth National park where you will enjoy an evening game drive seeing a vast number of animals big and small as well as birds. With a high diversity of plants and animals, you will have such a greattime with so much to feed your eyes. Thereafter you will rest at Enganzi game lodge.
Day 7: Morning game drive and afternoon Boat ride on Kazinga Channel
The day starts off with a thrilling early morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National park which is famously known for its high bio-diversity of Flora and Fauna. This will be followed by a boat cruise on Kazinga Channel where you will see hundreds of Hippos along with a number of bird species including some seasonal immigrants from Europe.
Day 8: Drive to Ishasha sector and have a game drive
To enjoy game driving we shall drive to Ishasha famous for tree climbing lions in the woodland savannah; it is located south of Queen Elizabeth National park. You will be very thrilled to see this unique behaviour of these lions and at the end of the day you will rest and rest at the Savannah resort.
Day 9: Drive to Lake Bunyonyi
This is a day where you will enjoy your journey to one of the most beautiful places in Uganda. You will visit Lake Bunyonyi which literally means ‘many small birds.’ Lots of birds and spectacular views of terraces will make you feel like as if you are right in Switzerland.
Day 10: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi National Park
One of the things you can not miss when at Bwindi National park is to trek the famous endangered mountain gorillas. This morning you will get to enjoy this incredible activity in the company of very kind game rangers. The trek tekes between 2-6 hours and this time may seem very little at the end of the day. Don’t forget to capture every moment, you will need to remember this day as well as showing those you left back at home.
Day 11: Relaxing at Lake Bunyonyi
Lake Bunyonyi is a very liberating scenic place for someone to spend their time and rest. A morning boat ride can’t be any more exciting, a swim or a visit to the communities living around the lake and buying some interesting items that are on sale. You can get accommodation at the mid-range resort called Birdnest resort located near the lake.
Day 12: Drive to Ruhengeri in Rwanda
The drive to Ruhengeri is a very interesting and unforgettable encounter and you wil know the reason Rwanda is normally referred to as the “land of thousand hills”. The neat slopes covered with green vegetation and farmlands of different crops rolling past you will leave you in awe. You will arrive at the lodge in Ruhengeri town in the afternoon and here you will relax and rest in preparation of the next day’s activities.
Day 13: Activities in the Virunga Mountain Ranges and drive to Gisenyi
Rising to almost 5000 meters, Virunga is a chain of breathtaking beautiful volcanoes that are completely covered by a thick rain forest. There is plenty of activities to choose from that you can choose including gorilla trekking, hiking on Mt. Bisoke, tracking Golden monkeys or visiting the tomb of the famous researcher who dedicated over 20 years to understand mountain gorillas. Later in the afternoon you will leave Ruhengeri and head to Lake Kivu in Gisenyi for yet another interesting encounter.
Day 14: Drive to Kigali and Departure
As you head back to Kigali today, you will enjoy the beautiful scenery on your way and the happy children lining your way and waving at you like they knew you from way back. When you reach Kigali, you will visit a genocide museum found in Gisozi before catching your plane in the evening.
