The tour will begin in Rwanda and end up in Uganda. You will enjoy gorilla tracking in both Uganda (Bwindi national park) and Rwanda (Volcanoes national park). You will also visit Queen Elizabeth national park and Kibale forest national park.
Day 1: Transfer to your Hotel of Choice near Volcanoes Park
Our team will pick you from the airport in Kigali upon arrival and take you to Volcanoes national park. You will spend the night in Volcanoes lodge, Snow hotel, Muhabura lodge, Le mbabou gorilla lodge, Kingi guest house or Le mbabou budget room. Whichever suits your preference is where you will spend the night.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking
The next morning you will head to the parks headquarters where you will be able to track gorillas. This will start off with a brief from the chief ranger. You will then enter the forest to begin the trek and this could take from 2-6 hours. When you find the gorillas, you will then spend about an hour with them and be amazed. You will then return to your hotel for lunch and relax as well.
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Forest
Having trekked the gorillas in Rwanda, you will need to see for yourself what it is like in Uganda. You will leave Rwanda and go to Uganda arriving in Bwindi national park just in time for lunch. Here you will check in Bwindi lodge, Gorilla forest camp, Buhoma lodge, Nshongi resort, Nkuringo, Gorilla valley lodge, Buhoma community Bandas, Bwindi view, Kisoro guest house or Nkuringo camp site.
Day 4: Gorilla Trekking
In the morning you will head to the park’s headquarters where like in Rwanda, you will be briefed about the gorillas and assigned a ranger to go with you to trek them. The gorilla escapade is not at all different like that of Rwanda and you will enjoy your every minute with them.
Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth Park for Evening Games Drive
Queen Elizabeth is another park which has a vast collection of flora and fauna. Today you will enjoy a game drive in the park where you will see hippos, lions, leopards, buffalos, crocodiles, water birds and so much more. You will then spend a night at Queen Elizabeth bush lodge, King Fisher lodge, Twin lake safari lodge or Jacana lodge.
Day 6: Morning Chimpanzee Tracking in Kyambura Gorge/Kalizu Forest and Evening Launch Cruise
Early in the morning you will head out for a game drive or chimp tracking in Kyambura. After enjoying these adorable animals, it’s just ideal to go for a cruise on Kazinga channel where you enjoy seeing hippos gapping widely as they yawn and other water loving animals by the banks.
Day 7: Morning Game Drive and Transfer Kampala/Entebbe
You will then leave Queen Elizabeth and drive to Kampala then Entebbe where you will be able to catch your flight back home after an amazing week in East Africa.
