This is a 4 day itinerary to the volcanoes National Park and a chance to track golden monkeys. There is also a possibility to hike to Dian Fossey tombs found near Karisoke Research center as well as getting first hand information about the genocide by visiting Gisozi genocide memorial site.
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali
On arrival at Kanombe airport here in Kigali, Rwanda’s capital; you will be received by our professional team who will take you to your hotel for dinner and also to rest. You can stay at the manor hotel/Serena hotel/Flame Tree Village.
Day 2: Morning City tour and transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Day 2 will see you tour the city including the genocide memorial sites, national museum and many more. A scenic drive will thereafter follow after lunch through the terraced hills to the volcanoes national park the home to the famous endangered mountain gorilla. Later at sunset you will get to enjoy with the local Banyrwanda community and also enjoy cultural entertainment from them.
Day 3: Gorilla Tracking and Afternoon Cultural Walk
Gorilla tracking begins early in the morning after a heavy warm breakfast with a briefing from the senior park ranger at the park headquarters. Thereafter you will headout into the depth of the jungle to trek the gorillas and this will take about 2-6 hours and once you get to these creatures you will immediately be amazed at the close likeness they have with human kind. Here you will spend with them a maximum of only an hour and thereafter return to the hotel to relax. Later in the evening after resting you may take a nature walk to the twin lakes.
Day 4: Departure from the park to Kigali
Having enjoyed this amazing escapade, you will head back to Kigali and on your way; you may visit the genocide memorial sites if you want to. You will live to tell everyone about this itinerary.
