4 Day Rwanda Gorilla Trek – Tracking twice

Day 1: Arrive Kigali
Your guide will receive you at the airport upon arrival and take you to Lemigo hotel where you will find comfort and rest for the night. Day 2: Kigali to Volcanoes National Park

Though sad, it will be very memorable for you and you will have opportunity to hear these stories fresh from the natives themselves as opposed to just reading. In the city you will be see the incredible speed at which Rwanda is developing and also see how smart and clean Rwandan citizens can be. You will also have the opportunity of enjoying their food at one of their restaurants in the city. From here you head to Musanze also known as Ruhengeri northwest of Rwanda which is the main town for tracking gorillas. The drive is very scenic as you will be driving through gorgeous neatly farmed fields of coffee, banana, and tea name it.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking
You will be required to report to the park’s headquarters early in the morning after an early morning breakfast to be briefed mainly about gorilla etiquette and the things you ought to know about gorillas in general so that you are not surprised while on the track. It is here that you will also be assigned a gorilla group; each gorilla family can only have a maximum of 8 visitors. The time taken to reach the family you were assigned to will vary depending on their location and this will begin at about 7,000 feet altitude on the terraced slopes of the volcano. You will be blown away when set eyes on a fully grown silverback gorilla which appears like a fairy tale giant, three times bigger than an average man but amazingly very calm and peaceful unless disturbed. You will have lunch thereafter at the lodge having burnt enough calories in this spectacular activity, rest and later in the day take a stroll to the incredible twin lakes of Ruhondo and Bulera.

Day 4: Second Gorilla Trek and Return to Kigali
Report to Volcanoes National park’s headquarters early in the morning after a warm breakfast inorder to undergo a briefing gorilla trekking formalities. From there we shall head to the forest for the second and final gorilla trek and for this time it will be a different gorilla family. There will also be an opportunity to trek golden Monkeys.
