Along the eastern border of Rwanda, you will find the incredible Akagera National park crafted with hills that give way to the vast savannas of the Great Rift Valley. Made up of swamps, lakes and marshland, a massive compliment of nature and wildlife comfortable make this home, some you will only find here. Primates, fish, birds, big game, various aquatic animals and plant species alike all call Akagera home.
Day 1: Short southern lake circuit drive around Akagera National park.
Our staff will pick you from your resident hotel in the morning after briefing about the trip. The drive to the park is a very thrilling experience as you pass past Rwanda’s phenomenal landscapes and have a chance to see the lifestyle of Rwanda’s natives. On arrival at the park you will rest for a short while and thereafter proceed for the southern lake circuit game drive along Lake Ihema.
Be sure to find a collection of game including giraffes, elephants, zebras, buffalos, crocodiles, hippos to mention but a few. This game drive around Akagera gives you the opportunity to have a look at the most scenic savannah you will ever find in EastAfrica. Gentle hills that seem to fade into the savanna that is punctuated by waterbodies and lowland swamps make this an even more interesting sight.
There is a bonus you will get on top of the game drive depending on the time available and these activities are participating in day to day pastoral lifestyle, evening walks to enjoy birding and presentation of Akagera’s ecosystem as well as conservation efforts and the amazing coexistent dynamic of wildlife and the local community around.
Day 2: Game dive in the Northern circuit and the return to Kigali
An incredible sight of the sunrise accompanied with melodious bird songs in the morning marks the start of the early morning drive in the Northern circuit. The sight is exactly what you expect, lots of wildlife submerged in the gorgeous Mother Nature. Our staff will then take you back to Kigali
